April 4th Genius Hour Blog #2

                 Hi again! Sadly nothing has really happened with Genius Hour in the last week or so. I've been a bit busy after a trip and spent most of Tuesday working on my proposal, which you can find here. The whole project is official, the goal will be to learn enough C++ to write 4 practical projects. I guess my not working on Genius hour during the break was a failure, but I'll just have to work harder and spend more time on it. I should use my spare/free time better, and genius hour would be a great way to use it. 

                 As stated before, I spent most of Tuesday on my proposal so it would be only fair if I spent some time reviewing it. In my proposal, which was done on Prezi, I talked about what I already wrote about in Blog #1 - that I would be using C++, make 4 practical projects, etc. However, I also wrote about what I wanted to show people in my proposal, and the value of the genius hour project. Valuing time spent is near impossible, but I want to make sure my time is spent on something that will be helpful for the future, and what else is more practical than programming? Most important, in my proposal I talked about what hopefully the audience of the project would take away from it - that programming is a important skill both in the past, present, and future. The goal is that the audience sees the value, and the worth in the project. 

                  There are many reasons why I am doing this project. The main one is that I think it is good to teach yourself life skills, skills that will be important now and in the future for success. Also, I'm part of the North Surrey Secondary Robotics team, and they program in C++ so I could be helpful if I learn the FRC format of C++.

One of the websites I hope to learn from.          Over the last few weeks, we have been preparing our Genius Hour projects, where we will be using Mondays to learn something we want to do and present the project near the end of the semester at the "Celebration of Learning". I did an Inspiration chart which showed what I want to learn, how I would learn it, and how I would present it at the Celebration of Learning. At the end, I decided I wanted to learn C++ , and learn it through the internet (with websites like https://www.cprogramming.com) and some friends while presenting 4 practical projects at the Celebration of Learning. The whole Genius Hour concept makes me feel really good about life because it gives me something to look forward to in school. Movie Maker Projects and Stopmotion Projects - April 27th 2018

In the past few weeks, I've been working on some videos. I made 2 videos in Windows Movie Maker, one of which was all pictures about Pot-Bellied Pigs, and the latter which was a project I did with 2 partners, Kyle Wong and Taylor Rai. They were the actors and I was the director in our How to Hockey video. They were both a lot of fun to make and the latter is hilarious. I also did 2 Stopmotion Videos, both of which were very short and done with Taylor Rai. The first one is Pac-man being drawn, and the second one is Taylor sliding on the ground. The first one was made in Funmotion, and the latter was made with iMotion. I hope you enjoy!
