April 4th - Genius Hour Blog #1

One of the websites I hope to learn from. 

        Over the last few weeks, we have been preparing our Genius Hour projects, where we will be using Mondays to learn something we want to do and present the project near the end of the semester at the "Celebration of Learning". I did an Inspiration chart which showed what I want to learn, how I would learn it, and how I would present it at the Celebration of Learning. At the end, I decided I wanted to learn C++ , and learn it through the internet (with websites like https://www.cprogramming.com) and some friends while presenting 4 practical projects at the Celebration of Learning. The whole Genius Hour concept makes me feel really good about life because it gives me something to look forward to in school. It takes the whole structured thing out of school and allows me to do something I want to do, and encourages me to do better. The main challenge I was facing was what I actually wanted to do. It really took a lot of thinking because of how many topics there are to choose from, and so many of them are interesting. In the upcoming weeks, I hope to start on the learning process and create some mini-projects so I can understand the concepts better and so I have something to show that I am indeed learning and using the time efficiently.
