April 24th - Genius Hour Blog #5
The past week was a really fun week in info tech. I did a movie with Taylor and Kyle and it was a lot of fun and was hilarious. There were a lot of laughs as we did our filming and the movie is great. I hope to release it soon. On Monday, we did our 5th Genius Hour, and I decided to spend the time working on my if statements and arrays. I have some trouble with arrays and after messing around with data types, I got my code to work. However, as I was adding something to my project that involved calling certain spots in an array and inputting information into an array, there was a problem. My online compiler went offline, and my local compiler wasn't installed yet so I couldn't write anything or test my new section. I ended up spending the last ~15 minutes waiting and hoping the compiler would come back online, but it never did and I left with an incomplete goal. I could have tried another compiler, but the online compilers are weird and often out of date so projects that work on one compiler don't work on other compilers. Hopefully I won't have this issue when my compiler gets installed but there really is nothing I can do unless that happens. Its frustrating, but that is why we install compilers. At the very least, I learned how to do if statements in different ways (if else, while) and also learned how to set up and call an array.
